The more I mull this over in my head the more I think this is going to promote a faster more intense larger scale pvpenvironment. Looking @ CCP Weirdfish's blog The markers as they currently are set up can easily be taken down buy a medium sized BS gang. It's no longer a slugging match where both sides know when and where the battle is going to occur.
Example:
1. After Dominion though we might see a fleet of 10 Dreads and supporting elements racing to a choke point deep in enemy territory.
2. Follow on elements move through the area and start claiming sov. More then likely Medium sized BS gangs that are also patrolling the areas to clean up stragglers.
3. Obviously the defending alliance is now aware that they are under attack and scramble their fleet to defend the system and run right into the blockade, Battle ensues. Now those choke point systems are of vital importance. Instead of massive alarm clock ops it's more then likely that you could see battles that are lasting 24 hours or more as fresh pilots come online and the tired pilots go offline.
4. Now you have the problem of logistics, Ships are going to be running low on ammo and caps are going to be running out of stront. Which means you are going to have to have a fleet logistics train coming up from friendly territory probably to a POS that was set up for refits and resupply.
5. Longer battles means more pilots dying. Your going have to have spare ships ready and waiting for pilots to get back into the battle. But the problem now is that 4 or 5 freighter pilots are going to start to fall behind if they are coming all the way from high sec.
5b. Which means your probably going to start making the ships and modules in your home systems and bringing items up to the front in Transports. Perfect chance for black ops fleets to bounce them.
6. Now think about this across 4 or 5 constellations you can give your enemy a very big headache very quickly. But then again they can do the same for you in another constellation. Or they could cut your fleet off from home and then your SOL.

Edited by: Inferno Styx on 21/09/2009 03:18:12 I think a lot of pvp'rs are looking at this the wrong way. Industrialists in their territory can be turned into a major asset. PvP players excel at getting their ships blown up. Industrialists excel at replacing ships, If an alliance recruits a industrial corp then they can easily work a deal for cheaper ships in exchange for protection. Instead of having to send a Carrier or jump freighter to low sec to pick up more ships and mods. They just have to go back to their home system.
Its a symbiotic relationship that benefits both sides and it gives both sides a vested interest. If the PvP corp is in trouble then the industrialists will not want to lose their major client and will recruit their members to help the pvp corp. The PvP'ers will not want to lose access to cheap mods and ships so they won't go around popping hulks because they are bored.
both sides win and everyone is happy.

It's the reason that the current null sec PvP alliances need to come to High sec to buy new ships in the first place. If they didn't blast everything in sight they might actually have industrialists coming out to make a good deal with them. A Jump Freighter can hold a lot of ships and mods. People know where the stations are alliances would have a much easier life all in all if they allowed free travel. Honestly think about it for 1 minute, is it easier to put buy orders up in your station in your constellation, or to spend your time and effort jumping to Jita then all the way back.
Honestly open up your refinery and offer a half decent price for minerals and you'll get a dozen Hulk pilots out there mining away and probably filling your orders up because then they don't have to haul it all the way back to high sec. If they bug you or are obnoxious kill them. Hell you could even charge them a couple mil usage fee and make even more money off the deal. Everything that I said can be done under today's mechanics.

the other idea that has yet to be brought up. How about revamping the NPC's fittings and AI? Replace the mission AI with Sleeper AI and give them different ammo to cover a wider spectrum of dmg. This results in the fact that the missions become much more difficult pushing the risk/reward ratio of missions towards a balance. It also means that more ships will be at risk of being destroyed.
